Bachelor's Paradise in Shadyside

In 1963, a Pittsburgh Press article called Shadyside “Our Greenwich Village” and this townhouse, although recently renovated, would fit right in. Weisshouse designers celebrated 1960s mid-century designs mixed with modern silhouettes.

Sculptural iconic Cherner chairs covered in leather make a strong statement in the dining room, with matching barstools in the kitchen. A retro bar console (great for storage and mixing) sits at the end of the dining table, while neutral accents and art highlight the space. The kitchen and dining room overlook the living room, where a boxy contemporary sectional grounds the living room with a glass boomerang coffee table. Anchoring the fireplace is a classic leather B&B Italia Metropolitan chair paired with a one-of-a-kind petrified wood stump. Vintage accessories, including bowling pins, wooden sculptures, and vintage artwork, are layered throughout the room, adding texture, color, and topics for many conversations.
